My List Of The Most Beautiful Mixed Metal Cabinet Knobs And Pulls
While shopping for hardware for my own home I realized that mixed metal cabinet knobs and pulls arent the easiest to come by!
As someone who gets a specific design idea in my mind and then wants to make it happen, I was on a search for two tone cabinet hardware that would be the perfect fit for my vision.
See, I had always had a dream of having green cabinetry in my home and it just so happened that I found the perfect place to use that beautiful color.
Of course green pairs so beautifully with the warm tones of brass and gold, and I had even found a beautiful backsplash with touches of brass that I knew would be absolutely stunning.
The problem I had was that the majority of the metal throughout the house was going to be silver, nickel, or chrome.
That meant that in the space there would be hinges, door handles, and other hardware not on the cabinets that would be a nickel color.
My matchy-matchy mind kicked into gear and I knew I wanted to search for my ideal hardware in a mixed metal to help create my dream green cabinet scheme.
As I was searching I realized, this is not an easy thing to find. Thats exactly why I knew I needed to write this post for anyone else who might be on the hunt for their own mixed metal cabinet knobs and pulls to finish their kitchen, bathroom, or bar area.
Why Mixed Metal Cabinet Knobs And Pulls
When planning a kitchen and mixing metals in the space, the most common way I see it happen is with the metals being separated but still coordinating with other features throughout the space. For example, having a nickel faucet and black light fixtures. That look is lovely and can work extremely well when done correctly.
Another way I see mixed metals used is when they are combined within a small space. Say youre planning to have a black faucet and a stainless steel farmhouse sink. Those two metals are right next to each other and blend beautifully together – so why not have that combination continue throughout the space by choosing knobs and pulls that mix the two?
For anyone who likes things to match but cant choose between two metals, or someone who wants to see a more uniform blending of their mixed metals in a space, mixed metal cabinet knobs and pulls is a smart and stylish way to make it happen.
I personally like that it kept the visual flow of the space. I didnt want the room to feel separated with one area having one metal and the rest having another, which is why using mixed metals on the cabinet pulls was the ideal way to keep the design making sense.

Mixing Metals With Cabinet Knobs And Pulls:
As I have mentioned in the past posts, I see mixing metals as a sort of an art form. The number one rule I follow is sticking to no more than two metal finishes within one space. Any more than two, and the room is likely to look haphazard and disjointed. Finding the right way to combine metals in a room is about visual balance and expressing your own unique sense of style.

Gold cabinet hardware is definitely trending in kitchens, BUT keep in mind that both gold and silver are the two most classic fixture metals. Either one will always be a classic choice even if it isnt the hottest trend at the moment.
So, yes, gold hardware is a huge trend right now and this trend will die down , but dont let that stop you from getting what you want.

The goal is to keep your design foundation classic and timeless so that your home can grow and evolve as your style grows and evolves.
You can mix in trendy finishes that are easy and inexpensive to change in the future when they are no longer trendy or you tire of them!

Maybe, but I DOUBT it.
