The house’s address was mentioned as being 6151 Richmond Street, Miami. The model used for exterior shots of the house from the third season through the end of the series was part of the backstage studio tour ride at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. This façade, along with the Empty Nest house, sustained hurricane damage leading to Disney’s 2003 decision to bulldoze the houses of “Residential Street” and construct its Lights, Motors, Action!: Extreme Stunt Show attraction, later replaced by Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. The façade was based on a real house at 245 North Saltair Avenue in the Westgate Heights neighborhood of Los Angeles. Producers used this residence for exterior shots during the first two seasons. In 2020, owners marketed the property for $3 million.

The show’s designer, Ed Stephenson, took inspiration from his time living in Florida to design a “Florida look” for The Golden Girls house set. The wooden accents, columns, and doors were painted to mimic bald cypress wood, popular in South Florida homes, with rattan furniture and tropical-printed upholstery chosen for the furniture.

Mama kitty earned the name Goldie, while her kittens became known as The Golden Girls after the popular 80s sitcom that introduced the world to Sophia, Dorothy, Rose, and Blanche.

I remember the show from when I was a little kid and always have loved Betty White. Ive always had a soft spot for gingers and wanted to use the names, Lori says. When I found out that they were all girls, it was a perfect fit!

The Golden Girls Stay In Our Hearts

Watching their transformation from the time they arrive until they get adopted is very rewarding, she says. Showing them love, telling them that their lives matter, giving them a voice, and providing them a chance that they would not have otherwise had is the reason why I foster.

Being able to help match them with their forever families has allowed me to make some new friends, as many of our adopters keep in touch and send photo updates. These happy updates always make me smile! I also enjoy being able to help educate the community on the importance of rescue work and fostering in order to save lives.

Just as the original Golden Girls have stayed in our hearts, sweet kittens Dorothy, Sophia, Rose, and Blanche will also be there too. Thank goodness for kind people like Lori, who understand that every kitten is special and deserves a loving home.

This ‘golden Girls’ Star Was Found Dead Partially Eaten By ‘turkey Vultures’

Details surrounding the tragic death of Golden Girls star Charles Levin has just been released by Oregon state investigators and the specifics surrounding his death are very, very sad.

According to a report released by the Grants Pass Department of Public Safety, the badly decomposed body of actor Charles Levin was found at the bottom of a 30-foot steep hill and it was revealed “there were signs of animal scavenging likely in the form of turkey vultures as the presence of bird feces on and around the body.”

According to the investigator’s report, obtained by Daily Mail, Levin had been reported missing after making contact with a friend saying he was lost close to Cave Junction, Oregon.

Local reports say Charles son reported him missing on July 8, near the actor’s home in Oregon. Police searched for the actor’s orange Fiat, which he had been driving, and they were told his dog Boo Boo Bear was also with him.

The Youngest Golden Girl Was Rue Mcclanahan

Rue McClanahan portrayed the audacious southern belle, Blanche Devereauxwhen the show first premiered.

At the time, the actress was 52 years old.

Although her on-screen character constantly changes her age throughout the series in order to seem younger, some fans have discovered that Blanche Devereaux was supposed to be 53 in the show according to one episode that pins her 17th birthday in 1949.

With just one year difference in ages between actor and Golden Girl character, Rue McClanahan has the lowest age gap.

However, Blanches character seems to stretch the truth and misremember the past several times throughout the series, so its possible that her flashback may not give as much evidence as fans would hope as to what her actual age is.
