Do you hava link to an Amex page about this?PS: Thanx for the welcome back! MNflyerGuyDid some searches and found that some brands of metal cards will set off metal detectors. Too early to tell if the AMEX Reserve one will?MCO FlyerIt wonder if it actually might still be possible to get a plastic replacement. I went online to replace my companions reserve card earlier and I noticed there were two options for replacement, metal or contactless. According to the card renderings, the metal cards are already contactless enabled so I wonder if its still possible to get just the contactless plastic card?MSPeconomistThe picture looks like it will be a distinctive purple color, very different looking than the current black with blue and gray plastic one with the gold colored chip that seems to clash.

Delta Reserve Credit Card From American Express

The big daddy, and according to Harteveldt, far and away the most exciting of all the new cards is the Reserve. As with the Platinum, the fee for this card is going up, in this case from $450 a year to $550 , but it’s clear that the card’s benefits are rising, too. Reserve cardholders will now receive, for the first time, access to the American Express Centurion Lounges all over the world and two Delta Sky Club Lounge one-time guest passes each year. They’ll also receive complimentary upgrades whenever available, even without holding Medallion status. The card is also metal, and Reserve cardholders will get triple miles for every Delta purchase and either a $100 credit for Global Entry or $85 credit for TSA PreCheck. New cardholders will receive 80,000 bonus miles and 20,000 Medallion Qualifying Miles after spending $5,000 in three months, and a $200 statement credit if you make a Delta purchase within the first three months.;

What Credit Score Do You Need For An American Express Credit Card

Goldhealth: Amex Delta Gold Metal Card

In general, American Express cards are marketed towards cardholders with good to excellent credit. The no annual fee cards are often the easiest to get, and a good credit score of 670 or above may allow you to qualify. However, if you want one of American Express’s luxury travel credit cards, you’ll need an excellent credit score — the higher, the better — and solid income. Of course, American Express looks at more than just your credit score when evaluating applications, so your mileage may vary.

What Is A Metal Credit Card

A metal credit card is typically a premium card made from materials like stainless steel, brass or copper. Generally, they work in the same way as their plastic counterparts. Metal cards are heavier and typically more durable. They can sometimes come with luxury perks, depending on the card itself.

Historically, metal credit cards were a luxury item and reserved for the very wealthy. These metal credit cards were obtained by invitation only. They had high annual fees, some as high as $10,000, and hefty initiation fees. While there are still very exclusive metal credit cards in existence, today most consumers with good-to-excellent credit scores can count themselves among metal credit card holders.

Pros And Cons Of Metal Credit Cards

Metal cards are a bit heavier, and much harder to bend or break. From a status symbol standpoint, they are usually considered more upscale since most metal cards are focused on higher-end cardholders. On the con side, disposing of a metal credit card is a bit more complicated since they can’t simply be cut up or shredded like a plastic one.

New Delta Increased Offers Analysis

Below is our analysis of the Amex Delta limited time offers. We value Delta points at 1.2 cents per point since there are often promotions like Delta Flash Sales, where you can get a good deal on redemption.

Important note: The new Amex Delta offers take into account keeping the card for the second year.

For example, the Delta SkyMiles Gold has an intro bonus of up to 70,000 miles, but you must keep the card in the second year to earn the 10,000 miles. 60,000 miles are awarded after spending $2,000 in the first 3 months of account opening, and the remaining 10,000 are issued after you renew the card.

If you accept the Anniversary Bonus Miles and cancel the card immediately afterward, you risk getting blacklisted by American Express. Dont accept the anniversary bonus if you plan to cancel the card. The gaming language is explicitly spelled out in the terms of service.

How To Redeem Miles

The most obvious way to redeem Delta SkyMiles is to book award flights on Delta and its partners. Since Delta uses a dynamic award pricing system, though, redemption rates fluctuate widely. This means you cant really aim for a set amount of miles to book a specific award.

That said, there are still some sweet spots in the Delta SkyMiles program.

For example, one of the best ways to redeem Delta SkyMiles is to book a SkyMiles deal. Delta frequently has mileage flash sales with significantly discounted economy and even Delta One award flights.

You can also redeem Delta SkyMiles to fly on Delta partner airlines, including SkyTeam alliance partners like Air France and Korean Air;and non-alliance partners like Virgin Atlantic and WestJet.

You can also redeem SkyMiles for many things other than flights. Most of these redemptions yield a lower return than when redeeming for flights.
