All 2022 GOLDEN BUZZER Auditions & Moments On America’s Got Talent

The last judge to press their Golden Buzzer was former model Heidi Klum, who saved it for a clothes-based act.

On the June 29 episode of America’s Got Talent, the judges met the French quick-change artist Léa Kyle. Though Klum pressed her buzzer, she was not the only judge impressed with the act. Mandel said he had “never seen one better than you,” while Cowell said she had, “amazing showmanship.”

Klum said of the act, “You were doing real magic. It was absolutely incredible. You know how much I love fashion. I feel like we have never had anyone who is as good as you, so I feel you should go straight to the live shows.”

America’s Got Talent Season 16 airs Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET / 7 p.m. CT on NBC. Previous episodes are streaming on Peacock and Hulu

Howie Mandel Reveals Why He Made Mike E Winfield That Surprise Offer

I think if you had done that routine in the Final it would have been a completely different story because youve come back funnier, more confident,” Cowell said. “I can even see it in your eyes how much this means to you right now.”

Winfield also opened up to People about the honor. “It just feels like, in this moment, I thought my life was already changed, but now it’s solidified,” he said.

He also revealed that he’s grown closer to Mandel since Season 17 wrapped. Some fans will remember that the former Deal or No Deal Host even offered Winfield a gig during the season’s Live Shows. And though Winfield has been a little too busy to join him on the road, the two have still found time to bond.

“Our relationship has really grown in such a great way,” he said. “I hang out with him now. I hang at his production company. I see how shows are made and pitched … I know he’s been in the business so long, and he’s successful. So I kind of just pick up things that he’s doing and know that there’s going to come a time when I need to implement some of these same practices.”

Winfield has automatically advanced to the AGT: All-Stars Final alongside fellow Golden Buzzers Light Balance Kids and the Detroit Youth Choir. We can’t wait to see what else he has up his sleeve.

Watch AGT: All-Stars Mondays at 8/7c on NBC and next day on Peacock.

“Every part of me just knew that I needed to push the Golden Buzzer. I absolutely loved his performance and he deserved it!”

In the AGT live shows, Herrod could be joined by a frequent collaborator. He sings in the band Pink Martini alongside Storm Large, who also made it through the audition stage of the ABC show.

There wasn’t a dry eye in the house during Dixon’s emotional audition. Before his stirring saxophone performance, the 21-year-old opened up to the Judges and audience about the years of bullying he endured, which nearly drove him to suicide.

“When you’re in that mindset, the only thing you want to do is quit,” Dixon said. “That’s when I started actually learning how to play… My goal with the music, with this, is to be able to do the thing I love. And if I can do that, I’ll have found my purpose for being on America’s Got Talent.”

When it was initially used, the buzzer simply saved an act from elimination.

But in its first season, three of the acts given the buzzer were cut during Judgement Week, while the fourth was never even shown.

The only rule to the buzzer was that a judge could use it only once per season.

The rules were changed in season ten where the recipients of the buzzer were given a pass through to the quarter-finals.

In this season the eventual winner – ventriloquist Paul Zerdin – received the Golden Buzzer from guest judge Marlon Wayans.

From season 11 onwards the host was allowed to press the special button for an act.

After Zerdin won in 2015, four more Golden Buzzer acts have also triumphed in the competition:

  • Grace VanderWaal, season 11 – Howie’s pick
  • Darci Lynne, season 12 – Mel B’s pick
  • Kodi Lee, season 13 – Gabrielle Union’s pick
  • Brandon Leake, season 14 – Howie’s pick

Cowell also praised the group, saying, “I think what you did was one of the most extraordinary things I’ve ever seen on America’s Got Talent.”

Night four of Americas Got Talent: All Stars will include the next group of 10 artists from around the world competing for the two spots that will take them to the finale: Either the Golden Buzzer, which will be decided upon by Heidi Klum, or being voted through by the AGT Superfans, who select one act to go through each week.

Back on AGT in Season 15, Howie Mandel told the 34-year-old body sculptor and single mom from Nashville, Tenn., that she was the singer to beat. That may have been the case as far as solo singers went, but she lost the title to spoken poet Brandon Leake.

But she had confidence going into the finale. She told Parade at that time, I do believe I am the singer to beat. I think it is just experience. It is life that makes me the singer to beat, because I didnt know I had what I have in me this whole time. But now being on AGT, I feel like I am almost to the finish line where I can click my heels three times. It all makes more sense to me.

Who Gets A Golden Buzzer Pick

During the auditions, the four Americas Got Talent judges and the host are given the opportunity to push the Golden Buzzer for any act they like.

They only have one opportunity each per series to hit the buzzer.

Guest judges are able to push the button for their favorite performance during the Judge Cuts.

Howie Mandel’s Golden Buzzer: Madison Baez

In Episode 2, we learned that AGT lets random members of the crowd perform during the breaks as a way of keeping the audience engaged. Crews made the most of this by planting Baez into the crowd. Then, when the crowd was asked whether anyone could sing, Baez performed a version of “Amazing Grace” so good that it brought Cowell back into the room.

“In all the years we’ve ever done this, this has never actually happened before. I normally leave during the break because people do sing, so this is actually the opposite. It actually brought me back into the room,” Cowell said.

However, it was actually Mandel who gave the 11-year-old singer the Golden Buzzer.
