Ahhh Golden Goose Sneakers. Theyre one of the most highly-debated items when it comes to fashion, and especially shoes. Whats funny about them is they are obviously designer, but other designer items dont get quite as many opinions. I think it has to do with the fact that they are sneakers, and on top of that, most of their designs are worn in or scuffed up making the thought of spending 4, 5, 6 hundred dollars on them hard to justify for some. Which I get! Believe me.
I actually wasnt always the biggest fan of them, or at least wasnt sure I needed them in my own closet. It took me quite some time to warm up to them because I thought they might be too trendy. They also seemed very loud and out there, style-wise, that I just didnt feel would help justify the price since I tend to stick with neutral colors. But, they do have some neutral options, which I later discovered and thats when things started to shift.
As youve probably noticed from looks like this and this, Ive come around. In fact, I now LOVE me some Golden Goose. Thats not to say I dont stop and think about it before purchasing a pair, but when it comes to them being worth it, I know my answer. I began my outfit with an oversized, linen style cream T-Shirt from ASOS , which I felt was different to my typical looks with its draping floaty appearance. I dug out my grey Topman skinny denim jeans which paired flawlessly as the grey was of a warmer tone. I was in two minds as to what sneakers to wear with the outfit, but Lorna suggested my new Goose slides as they are an olive-brown colour, after placing them next to the rest of my outfit we decided it was the best option. Once the ensemble was pieced together and worn, I felt it was different yet a good look for me! .

Golden Goose Sneaker Brand Identifiers
Italian craftsmanship is central to the Golden Goose brand, so all sneakers should be marked Made in Italy. Look carefully at the tags on the tongue of the shoe. Many say GGDB Made In Italy Size ___ some have a perforated GGDB, and you may see other variations as well, but according to Finch the printing on the tag should be bold with consistent fonts. Another place to pay attention to the fonts is on the counter, or outer heel of the shoe, where the brand logo should be neatly debossed with a slight arch. When authenticating, the font to watch out for is the traditional arched logo stamp on the exterior counters. This font will be serifed and have an arch. Again, this stamp will vary depending on the style, but styles with the traditional stamp are most counterfeited.
The insoles for Golden Goose sneakers are also quite consistent. Each will be stamped with black ink in a bold, sans-serif font, notes Finch. It depends on your budget, obviously. For some, the price tag will simply not be worth it, if things like bills, rent, or other necessities need to come first.
It depends on how much wear youll get out of them. Like I suggest doing with ALL investment purchases, really ask yourself if you would get a good cost per wear out of them. If youre a sneakers girl, youll probably have a lot more wears out of a pair of sneakers and therefore they might be worth it for you. If you rarely wear sneakers, they might not be the smartest investment for you.

Youll see in that post that you dont need to spend Golden Goose money on a similar look if you dont want to. HOWEVER, dont just buy dupes if theyre just going to sit on your shoe shelf. One of the most asked question I have regarding any of my Golden Goose sneakers are, “do Golden Goose sneakers run true to size?” or “how to Golden Goose sneakers fit?” The answer is true to size. I’m a small US 8.5. I wear a 38 in both the PURESTARS and Superstars. Since Golden Goose sneakers only come in whole sizes, I opted to size down since I typically don’t wear socks with them, and keep them loosely tied. However, if you’re between sizes and wear no-show socks or tend to size up in sneakers, then I would size up! To play it safe you can always order both sizes and send back the one that doesn’t fit best. After you know your Golden Goose sneakers size, they are all consistent between styles.
