When To Travel To Gold Beach Oregon

The summer months through mid-October are the best time to visit Gold Beach. Summer temperatures are in the mid-to-upper-60s. Temperatures in the winter months dip slightly into the 50s but you will see more wind and rain.

While the summer months are not overly busy, consider visiting in September or October to avoid the crowds that are there. We visited Gold Beach in mid-August and did not have any problem with overcrowding.

Weather In Gold Beach Oregon

You cant go wrong visiting Gold Beach any time of year, the temperatures rarely exceed 74 degrees or drop below 37 degrees Fahrenheit. The summers in Gold Beach are pretty comfortable and a great location to escape the summer heat with temperatures averaging in the 70s. The warm weather and dry days typically last over the fall season until mid to late November.

If you are traveling to Gold Beach in the wintertime, be prepared for some storm watching! Pack your rain boots and a waterproof jacket, you are going to want to observe the massive waves during a rainstorm on the Oregon coast. Theres a lot of beaches to choose from. Whether you enjoy, sand, tide pools, fishing or looking for shells and interesting rocks. Quite a variety of places to eat. Barnacle Bistro had the BEST fish and chips weve ever had. Loved Indian creek cafe for buckwheat peach/pecan waffles. Love that there are no big box stores in the area. Support the little stores!! And also love that during our Covid-19 time, the cases in Gold Beach as well as the whole Curry county are minuscule.

Admire The Views At Cape Sebastian State Scenic Corridor

At Cape Sebastian State Scenic Corridor, both parking lots are more than 200 feet above sea level, so it’s no surprise that the views are spectacular.

On a clear day, you may see up to 43 miles heading north from the south parking overlook, with Humbug Mountain occupying most of the view.

Looking south, you could see as far as California, which was up to 50 miles away.

There is a large amount of Sitka Spruce forest throughout the park, making it an excellent place to go hiking.

In the lower areas of the cape, there is a 1.5-mile trekking track that can provide equally stunning views.

As an alternative, you may walk along the shore and look for whales or fish while there.

It is one of Southern Oregon’s tallest, most sheer-sided, and breeziest points. Near Gold Beach, it’s just a short drive from the 101, making it convenient to visit.

The Motel Was Nice But The Receptionist Dana Left A Very

The motel was nice but the receptionist, Dana, left a VERY bad impression with us because she was discourteous, unfriendly, not accomodating to our needs. Also, we arrived around 1:30 and knew that check in time was 4:00 BUT SHE DID NOT MAKE ANY ATTEMPT TO SEE IF ANY ROOMS WERE AVAILABLE TO CHECKIN EARLY. It was raining and she said that we could not wait in the lobby. So we had to wait in our car until checkin time. When we went into the lobby at 3:30, hoping thast she would show some mercy and let us check in then she refused. Other guests came in and she refused to let them check in also. We talked with them and we all agreed that we had never been treated like this in any of our years of travel, which was decades long. Gold Beach should think long and hard about the terrible impression Dana. We had been traveling in Oregon for eight days and stayed at other motels and were not treated this shabbily.

If you are unable to bail an inmate out, or they are serving their time in the Curry County Jail, staying in contact with them is one way to support them through their rehabilitation. Here are the ways you can stay in contact with an inmate:

Talk on the phone: Each housing unit has a coinless payphone in which inmates can place collect calls to friends and family members. There are also phones that can be used without cost if inmates need to talk to legal personnel.

Visit an inmate: To visit an inmate at the Curry County Jail, you must be on the approved visitor list. You will need to register online at SecurusTech to schedule a visit. Keep the following in mind when scheduling a visit:

• You are only allowed 1 visit per week.

• All visits are by appointment only.

• You must schedule a visit 24 hours in advance.
