Other Silver Investing Options Individual & Bags Of Silver Coins

We also offer bags of silver coins for silver investing for Lexington investors, commonly referred to as junk silver coins.

While these circulated pre-65 US 90% silver coins are not bullion and have no collector value, investors that can handle the added bulk and weight of bags should make them their first silver investing choice. These 90% silver coins pick up premiums in market where the public is investing heavily in silver. The premiums can, at times, rise to ridiculously high levels.

In addition to bags of junk silver coins, we offer individual 1-oz. silver investing options for Lexington investors that continue to grow in popularity:

Selling Your Gold Online

Regarding “cash for gold” sites: if a physical presence is not visible and open for business, it is advisable to steer clear of buyers that appear to have a public presence exclusively online. Additionally, checking for reputation never hurts. After all, gold, diamonds and other precious metals are traded for steep prices. Even a cheat of a few percent translate into a significant dollar amount.

The easiest and the fastest way to get that cash will be to sell your old and unwanted gold articles which you may have ignored these past few years.

A lot of people tend to forget that they still have valuable things that they can sell in order to get some cash. Some of these are the old jewelries that are left hidden away on a small box somewhere and were ultimately forgotten. You may have exhausted all your other options and may be too ashamed to go to your parents or friends to borrow some money. When you have gotten to this point, try to think of things that may contain gold and start looking for dealers who will be willing to buy them at the current market value of gold. You may not know it but all that old stuff may give you a hundred dollars in return.

Gold And Silver Recognized As Money In Kentucky

Kentucky State Police Foundation’s Gold For Gray Gala held in Lexington

The United States Constitution states in Article I, Section 10, “No state shall…make anything Thing but gold and silver Coin a Tender in Payment of Debts.”

Legislative acts that take steps towards this constitutional requirement are slowly gaining steam. Utah and Oklahoma are leaders in this field, declaring gold and silver as money within their states.

Unfortunately, Kentucky has not taken any steps to reaffirm its constitutional duty to treat gold and silver coins as tender in payment of debts, including requiring state courts to enforce gold clause contracts as Oklahoma and Utah did with the recent passage of SB 862 and HB 157, respectively.

Oklahomas SB 862 reads, in part, gold and silver coins issued by the United States government are legal tender in the State of Oklahoma. No person may compel another person to tender or accept gold or silver coins that are issued by the United States government, except as agreed upon by contract.

Utahs HB 157 reads, in part, except as expressly provided by contract, a person may not compel any other person to tender or accept legal tender.

Gold clause contracts are a useful tool to give both creditors and borrowers alike protection against the currency risks resulting from both inflation and deflation.

For more information on gold clause contracts,

In 2016, Kentucky legislators introduced House Bill 405, a measure that would have established gold and silver as legal tender. Unfortunately, this bill did not pass.

Kentucky Holding Reserves In Gold And Silver

Financially prudent individuals set aside surplus funds to protect against unforeseen expenditures. This way, when faced with loss of income, house repairs, car trouble, or anything else, they will have a buffer against unanticipated downturns.

In the same vein, almost every state in the United States has established a savings account for government operations. Primarily to mitigate a decline in tax revenues that comes alongside economic slumps, states have created so-called budget stabilization funds colloquially known as rainy day funds.

Unfortunately, like every other state in the union, Kentucky does not hold any of its reserves in gold and silver.

While Kentucky may not hold its reserves in gold and silver yet, Tennessee is setting an example by considering legislation that would allow for this. Tennessee Representative Bud Hulsey introduced House Bill 0777 in 2017 which “requires the state treasurer to invest 40 percent of the funds in the rainy day fund in gold bullion;of other precious metal bullion.” This bill will be voted on in 2018.

Invest In Gold Coins Or Gold Bars Whats The Difference

In terms of value, there is not much to worry about when it comes to choosing to invest in gold coins or gold bars.

Many investors in Lexington, KY, prefer to buy gold coins. The reasons include:

    • They are convenient to handle
    • They are easy to store
    • There is always a buyers market should you wish to sell

However, we should say that it is best to avoid buying “collectible” coins, as you will be paying for more than the gold content in this instance.

Alternatively, you may prefer to buy your gold bullion as bars. This is an equally sound investment and will show similar returns to coins. You should make sure you buy as close to spot price as possible from a reputable dealer.

So, if you live in Lexington, KY, and would like to discuss how you might invest in gold, call us on 800-528-1380. Well be happy to offer you our expert advice.

    Frequently Asked Questions And Answers

What are people saying about gold buyers in Lexington, KY?

This is a review for gold buyers in Lexington, KY:

“Sheila Bayes staff are all professional, courteous and very knowledgable, and very pleasant. I walked into their store for the first time with several needs – to sell some gold, to have a custom piece made, and to purchase rings ultimately from a designer that Shelia Bayes didn’t currently carry in their line. All of my needs were met! While I can compliment many staff members with whom I interacted on my multiple visits there over several months, I dealt mostly with Heather Burleson, the Director of Procurement, Fulfillment and Education and the staff gemologist. She was either the liaison for work I was having done or directly assisted me in my needs. I would highly recommend Shelia Bayes Fine Jewelers to anyone. If you haven’t been in, drop by to have a look!”

Is Kentucky Holding Physical Gold & Silver In Government Pension Funds

Millions of Americans will rely on pensions once they’ve reached the age of retirement. Pension fund managers have a fiduciary duty to safeguard funds against foreseeable risks.

With the practices of today’s Federal Reserve, there is no risk more foreseeable than inflation! But with very few exceptions, pension money managers are not fulfilling their duty to protect against this significant risk by investing in assets that are specifically suited to defend against the perpetual decline of the dollar’s purchasing power. Chief among these assets are physical gold and silver, the most reliable inflation hedges from time immemorial.

Tens of millions of Americans and their employers pour money into pension plans each month, counting on those funds to grow and be there when needed at retirement.

But a time bomb awaits. The bulk of U.S. pension funds are dangerously underfunded, and the assets are often invested in securities that have bleak prospects for providing income that keeps up with a general decline in purchasing power. In the case of underfunded government pensions, higher taxes invariably follow combined with potential default on obligations to retired workers.

Unfortunately, Kentucky’s government pension funds do not appear to hold ANY assets in physical gold and silver.
