Where Do The Golden Knights Play

Don't Miss

Golden Knights’ Chandler Stephenson: Generates Assist In Loss

Golden Knights excited to play in front of fans again at The Fortress

Stephenson produced an assist, two shots on goal and two PIM in Tuesday’s 4-3 loss to the Lightning.

Stephenson set up the second of Mark Stone’s goals in the game, an even-strength tally in the second period. The 27-year-old Stephenson has gone eight games without a goal, but he has 10 assists in that span. The Saskatchewan native is up to nine tallies, a career-high 22 helpers, 50 shots on net and a plus-10 rating through 31 contests overall.

Golden Knights’ Zach Whitecloud: Assists In Consecutive Games

Whitecloud provided an assist and blocked three shots in Tuesday’s 4-3 loss to the Lightning.

Whitecloud took on a top-pairing role with both Alex Pietrangelo and Nicolas Hague out of action. The 25-year-old Whitecloud set a season high in ice time for the second straight game, skating 26:16 in Tuesday’s contest. He’s up to eight points, 35 shots on net, 47 blocks, 31 hits and a plus-8 rating in 20 appearances overall.

Golden Knights Mark Stone: Avoids Injury

Stone is practicing Tuesday and appears to be fine, Steve Carp of VegasHockeyNow.com reports.

Stone exited Sundays preseason game versus the Sharks after taking a puck to the ear, but it looks like he escaped that contest without suffering a significant injury. Stone wont play in Tuesdays preseason matchup with Colorado, but it wouldnt be surprising to see him return to Vegas lineup for Thursdays preseason game versus LA.

Golden Knights’ Daniil Miromanov: Promoted Playing Tuesday

Miromanov was called up from AHL Henderson and will play Tuesday versus the Lightning, Jesse Granger of The Athletic reports.

Miromanov is expected to play in a third-pairing role with Alex Pietrangelo and Nicolas Hague unavailable. The 24-year-old Miromanov has one assist through three games this season.

What About The Goaltending Decision

Golden Knights Return To Play Roundup

Looking at the goaltending situation in Vegas is intriguing. What NHL team wouldnt want and Robin Lehner as their guys protecting the net? Yet, with a combined cap hit of $12 million between the two of them, somethings got to give. Do you give up on Fleury who just took home his first Vezina Trophy, or hope that Lehner earns his $5 million AAV deal through the 2024-25 season? While the pair was quite effective, again that pesky salary cap issue is biting at the Vegas franchises core. There have been rumours that if Fleury leaves hed love to go back to the Pittsburgh Penguins. Now wouldnt that be special?

Lehner seems solid and yet losing Fleury would be a bummer. He had a classic season with a 26-10 record including a sparkling 1.98 goals-against-average and a .928 save percentage. That included six shutouts and clutch wins when the teams needed them. Mark Madden of Triblive.com thinks that the Penguins should go after Fleury whose contract expires after next season. He thinks Fleury may be open to going back to Pittsburgh and the Pens should only need to give up a third-round pick for him. Of course, for that to happen the Golden Knights will need to retain up to half of Fleurys contract. That may not happen. Without Fleury, what would the Vegas Golden Knights future look like?

Golden Knights’ Robin Lehner: Injury Details Clarified

Lehner is dealing with a lower-body injury he suffered Sunday versus the Islanders, Jesse Granger of The Athletic reports.

Lehner didn’t dress for Tuesday’s contest, and head coach Pete DeBoer gave the goalie a day-to-day label. With no games scheduled until Monday versus the Avalanche, Lehner should get an extended chance to heal up without missing further action, though it’s unclear if the Swede will be able to go for that contest.

New Line Same Results

When the Stanley Cup Playoffs began, Tuch was originally slated to stay on the third line with his usual linemates. Mattias Janmark was given the opportunity on the top unit with Mark Stone and Chandler Stephenson. However, with the lack of offense in Game 1, head coach Peter DeBoer decided to switch up the lines for the next game.

This saw Tuch be promoted to the first-line, and the results almost came instantly. In his first game playing with this line, Tuch scored twice and was credited with the game-winning goal. During Game 2, he also had more ice-time and was featured on the penalty kill and at the ending of the game when the Minnesota Wild were making their final push. He would also go on to score a highlight-reel goal in Game 4.

However, his move to the top unit is not only beneficial to himself. Both of Tuchs new linemates are finding themselves at the top of the stat sheet. Stone is currently leading the team in points with four in four games, while Stephenson is close behind with three points of his own. So far, this line has combined for 10 points in the three games they have played together. So even with their main scorer out of the lineup, the Golden Knights have found a suitable replacement moving forward.

Golden Knights Brayden Mcnabb: Injured In Preseason Opener

NHL Highlights | Penguins vs. Golden Knights – Jan. 19, 2019

McNabb didnt finish Sundays preseason game against the Sharks, Jesse Granger of The Athletic reports.

The Golden Knights were without McNabb, Shea Theodore and Mark Stone by the end of the night. Further updates on their statuses should surface prior to the teams next preseason tilt, Tuesday against the Avalanche. McNabb was tripped down on his final shift, so his absence is likely linked to that play.

Wild Golden Knights: Stories To Watch

Kirill the Thrill and the no-longer-mild

Whether they were reaching or missing the playoffs, the Wild havent always lived up to their team name at least in the sense of excitement. Instead, their defensive-minded approach understandably often branded them as the Mild.

While the Wild still usually play good-to-great defense, Kirill Kaprizovs changed their trajectory. In the past, a casual fan of the sport might see the Wild on the schedule and groan. Now, theyre more likely to flip over to see what golden opportunity Kaprizov might create on any given night.

Beyond the more practical benefits of the Calder-lock-winger, hes simply made Minnesota a lot more fun.

With that in mind, its easier to picture the Wild beating the Golden Knights even if the series is played at the sort of hectic pace the franchise historically preferred to avoid.

We find that when you play good teams like , great teams, you raise up your play a little bit and just had emotional games against them, Wild winger said, via the Athletics Michael Russo . Its always been fun . Its always been back and forth and physical and heavy. So, it suits us well.

Wild won season series vs. Golden Knights

Honestly, in most years, head-to-head series stats dont mean a ton . When people really emphasize it, there could even be some eye rolls.

Golden Knights Robin Lehner: Starting Versus Kings On Thursday

Lehner will protect the road goal in Thursdays preseason game versus the Kings, John Hoven of SiriusXM NHL Network Radio reports.

Lehner is set to get into his first preseason game of the year. Its likely just a tune-up for the 30-year-old, who figures to receive a noticeable majority of the starts for the Golden Knights in 2021-22. He had a 2.29 GAA and a .913 save percentage with a 13-4-2 record across 19 games last year.

Shorthanded Rangers Play Sloppily In Loss To Golden Knights

LAS VEGAS Already playing without their best offensive player in Artemi Panarin, who missed his third straight game while in COVID-19 protocol, the Rangers were dealt another major blow moments before Thursday nights game against the Vegas Golden Knights as the team announced that No. 1 goaltender Igor Shesterkin also had entered COVID protocol.

Alexandar Georgiev, called on to start the game, was unable to overcome some sloppy defensive play by the Rangers, who lost to Vegas, 5-1, in the opener of a five-game road trip.

“We made a lot of mistakes tonight, Rangers coach Gerard Gallant said. “The first 25 minutes, we played a perfect game plan to come in here and try and beat this hockey team. And after that it fell apart. We started turning those pucks over at the blue lines. We started defending in our D zone instead of playing. We started giving them time, like we were killing a penalty, and when you let them go D to D and get pucks to the net and win them battles, youre not going to beat that team. We just looked like we lost our legs for some reason.

Jonathan Marchessault had two goals and former Ranger Brett Howden had his second goal in two games against his old team as the Rangers saw their winning streak end at three.

Inaugural Success Of The Golden Knights

The Knights havent just been playing well on the ice, theyve been selling well off it. To end their inaugural regular season, they finished seventeenth in the NHL in average home attendance but finished fourth in average arena capacity filled per game due to the amount of standing room only tickets they provide. The total attendance reached by Vegas this season was 739,740 and according to Forbes, the average ticket price in T-Mobile Arena is $88. Together, thats an estimated ticket revenue of around $65.1 million. Compared to the Chicago Blackhawks whos average ticket price is $90, the Blackhawks have made as estimated $79.9 million in ticket revenue. For a brand-new franchise with a much smaller arena, the Knights have set a nice ticket pace that can serve them well for following seasons.

Golden Knights Game Tuesday At Los Angeles Remains On Schedule

The NHL announced its return-to-play plans Sunday, with the Golden Knights game against the Los Angeles Kings at Crypto.com Arena scheduled to be played Tuesday.

The NHL announced its return-to-play plans Sunday, with most games resuming Tuesday. That includes the Golden Knights game against Los Angeles at Crypto.com Arena.

The league has been off since Wednesday after starting its holiday break early because of numerous COVID-related postponements. More than 100 players were in the leagues COVID-19 protocol before the pause, with several more added Sunday.

Games were originally scheduled to resume Monday, but the NHL announced Friday that it was extending its pause an additional day to analyze COVID-19 testing results and assess whether teams were ready to return.

The Knights game against Colorado at T-Mobile Arena was postponed, with no makeup date set. With the NHL no longer participating in the 2022 Winter Olympics, many of the postponed games could be made up in February.

Teams returned to their facilities Sunday to conduct testing and were eligible to practice.

The Knights did not skate at City National Arena and have not said any additional players were placed in COVID-19 protocol since defenseman Alex Pietrangelo and right wing Evgenii Dadonov entered Tuesday and missed the game against Tampa Bay.

There was no announcement from the team whether it will practice Monday.

Golden Knights Brett Howden: Attends Afternoon Session

Howden skated at the Golden Knights afternoon session of Thursdays practice, David Schoen of the Las Vegas Review-Journal reports.

Howden was traded from the Rangers to the Golden Knights in July after posting just seven points in 42 games last season. The 23-year-old will likely compete for a bottom-six role in training camp, and his ability to play either center or wing should help his cause for making the Opening Night roster.

Logos Colors And Uniforms

The team’s primary logo is a barbute helmet, superimposed on a black and gold shield, with a V-shaped opening. The secondary logo is two crossing swords behind a red star, designed to resemble the star found on the landmark Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas sign.

The team’s primary color is steel gray, which is said to represent “strength and durability”. The other team colors are gold, red , and black .

The first uniforms in Golden Knights team history were unveiled publicly on June 20, 2017. Home uniforms are steel gray with black, gold and red stripes, while road uniforms are white with steel gray, gold and red stripes. Shoulders feature the alternate swords logo. On October 2, 2020, the Golden Knights introduced a gold alternate uniform, essentially a palette swap of the road uniforms with gold and white switching places. On February 11, 2021, the Golden Knights debuted shiny gold helmets as an alternate to their home gray helmets.

The Golden Knights also released a special “Reverse Retro” alternate uniform. Because the Knights did not have a long NHL history to draw from, their retro design was inspired in part by Manon Rheaume, the first female NHL player, who played for the now-defunct International Hockey League‘s Las Vegas Thunder. The uniform employs a red base and features the “crossing swords” logo in front.
