Golden Knights’ Shea Theodore: Doesn’t Finish Preseason Opener

Golden Knights Game! – KNIGHT TIME

Theodore left Sunday’s preseason game against the Sharks early, Jesse Granger of The Athletic reports.

Theodore, Brayden McNabb and Mark Stone — the latter of whom was hit in the ear by the puck — all exited early. These exits may be precautionary, but there will be some anxious moments in Golden Knights nation until an update surfaces on Theodore’s status.

These are double decker buses that take you from one of the locations below to T-Mobile, with no stops in between. The cost is only $2 each way. You must pay in cash and exact change is preferred since they dont make change.

The Golden Knights Express leaves 20 and 30 mins. after the game ends, so this isnt an option if you plan on hanging around The Park afterward.

Golden Knights’ Brett Howden: Attends Afternoon Session

Howden skated at the Golden Knights’ afternoon session of Thursday’s practice, David Schoen of the Las Vegas Review-Journal reports.

Howden was traded from the Rangers to the Golden Knights in July after posting just seven points in 42 games last season. The 23-year-old will likely compete for a bottom-six role in training camp, and his ability to play either center or wing should help his cause for making the Opening Night roster.

Golden Knights’ Robin Lehner: Starting Versus Kings On Thursday

Lehner will protect the road goal in Thursday’s preseason game versus the Kings, John Hoven of SiriusXM NHL Network Radio reports.

Lehner is set to get into his first preseason game of the year. It’s likely just a tune-up for the 30-year-old, who figures to receive a noticeable majority of the starts for the Golden Knights in 2021-22. He had a 2.29 GAA and a .913 save percentage with a 13-4-2 record across 19 games last year.

Knights to Remember: Vegas Golden Knights

Welcome to the NHL, Seattle!

The NHL’s newest team, the Kraken, will hit the ice in Las Vegas to take on the Golden Knights on opening night. Before things get underway at T-Mobile Arena, the Lightning will take on the Penguins in Florida. The games mark the return of ESPN as the league’s broadcaster.

What to expect from the Kraken in 2021-22 is anyone’s guess. Will they be like expansion teams of yore, who struggled mightily against the more established clubs? Or will they be more like their first opponent, the Golden Knights, who went to the Stanley Cup Final in their inaugural year? Time will tell but the team did make some big moves already including signing free agents Jaden Schwartz and Philipp Grubauer and naming Mark Giordano the franchise’s first captain.

In the opening act on opening day, the defending champs will take on a Penguins crew that is expected to be missing Evgeni Malkin and Sidney Crosby. The Penguins captain underwent wrist surgery in September and while he skated over the weekend he’s not scheduled to return just yet.

Here’s everything you need to know to watch the first games of the 2021-22 NHL season.

Golden Knights’ Laurent Brossoit: Starting Preseason Contest

Brossoit will get the starting nod at home versus Colorado on Tuesday, Jesse Granger of The Athletic reports.

Brossoit will be making his debut for his new club after signing with the Golden Knights in the offseason. The 28-year-old netminder shouldn’t be expected to see too many starts this upcoming season as the No. 2 behind Robin Lehner, though he may get more opportunities than he did as the backup to workhorse netminder Connor Hellebuyck in Winnipeg.

Bonus Game: Apr 9 New Threads On Display

If you are a fan of NHL jerseys like me, then you were thrilled when the Arizona Coyotes announced that they would be rocking their vintage Kachina sweaters and using their Kachina logo moving forward. In my opinion, this logo is a top-five logo in the NHL .

I cannot wait to see these threads in action, and April the ninth will serve as the day Golden Knights fans can see them up close and personal.

With that, I just want to say what a joy it is to be going back to a regular, 82-game season where teams play other teams from each division. Not that I didnt enjoy hockey last year, but we can all agree it just wasnt the same. With so many games on the schedule, which ones are you looking forward to? Let me know in the comments below!

Logos Colors And Uniforms

The team’s primary logo is a barbute helmet, superimposed on a black and gold shield, with a V-shaped opening. The secondary logo is two crossing swords behind a red star, designed to resemble the star found on the landmark Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas sign.

The team’s primary color is steel gray, which is said to represent “strength and durability”. The other team colors are gold, red , and black .

The first uniforms in Golden Knights team history were unveiled publicly on June 20, 2017. Home uniforms are steel gray with black, gold and red stripes, while road uniforms are white with steel gray, gold and red stripes. Shoulders feature the alternate swords logo. On October 2, 2020, the Golden Knights introduced a gold alternate uniform, essentially a palette swap of the road uniforms with gold and white switching places. On February 11, 2021, the Golden Knights debuted shiny gold helmets as an alternate to their home gray helmets.

The Golden Knights also released a special “Reverse Retro” alternate uniform. Due to the team’s short history, the Golden Knights chose to honor the defunct International Hockey League‘s Las Vegas Thunder in creating the uniform, using a red base and featuring the “crossing swords” logo in front.

Golden Knights’ Nolan Patrick: Signs Two

Golden Knights practive for first time since Game 1

Patrick signed a two-year, $2.4 million contract extension with the Golden Knights on Sunday.

Patrick was dealt to Vegas in mid-July, and his extension will keep him with the club for at least two more years. The 23-year-old returned to the ice last year after he missed the 2019-20 campaign due to health issues, and he recorded four goals and nine points across 52 games with the Flyers.

Blues At Golden Knights Gameday Thread: New Year New Team New Outcome

This isnt last years Blues team, and its not last years Vegas team, either.

Last season, the Vegas Golden Knights went 6-1-1 against the Blues. Domination isnt even the word to describe how lopsided those games tended to look, especially as the season drug on and the Blues were more and more banged up.

My my my, how the turntables.

Its game three for both teams, and already the Golden Knights are missing their two best forwards, Max Pacioretty and Mark Stone. Marc-Andre Fleury was rewarded for winning the Veznia Trophy with being trade to the Blackhawks. The Blues may have a similar advantage tonight as they did in game one against Colorado, if they can keep the pressure up the entire game.

Pavel Buchnevich is out tonight, suspended for a headbutt, but former Golden Knight James Neal is back in. Vegas also has to factor with the youth movement of the Blues, namely Jordan Kyrou and Klim Kostin, who both had themselves a night on Monday against the Coyotes.

As an added bonus, the Blues are the late game on TNT tonight. Will we be treated to Wayne Gretzky dunking on Biznasty again? Tune in and find out!

This is your GameDay Thread. Comment like you want to see the Blues light up the Golden Knights like Gretzky taking more shots on Charles Barkley.

Lets do this. Lets Go Blues.

Golden Knights’ Peyton Krebs: On Ice For Practice

Krebs was at the Golden Knights’ afternoon practice session Thursday, David Schoen of the Las Vegas Review-Journal reports.

The oft-injured center earned an assist in four games in his first taste of NHL action last year. Krebs’ presence at training camp suggests his broken jaw has healed well enough for him to get on the ice. He’ll be in competition for a bottom-six role during camp, although it wouldn’t be surprising for the first-round pick from 2019 to end up with AHL Henderson to begin 2021-22.

Gail: Lack Of Urgency In Third Frames

Golden Knights Score Two 3rd Period Goals In 45 Seconds To Take Lead Over Avalanche

Its five games in, and the Blackhawks are 0-4-1. On top of that, they havent held a lead once in those five games. Sure, theyve played better the last few tilts. But a big bone of contention is that the Blackhawks cant put together a full 60-minute effort. This is very true, and Id specifically like to focus on their lack of urgency in the third period.

Last season, the Blackhawks werent very good. They were officially rebuilding, and expectations were low. But heres the thing. At least they were resilient. They fell behind a lot, but there was some spit and vinegar among the players. They never gave up, fighting their way back into games even if they still lost. I dont see that yet this season at all. In short, the players dont really seem to care.

In the third period so far this season, the Blackhawks have only scored five goals, while also allowing five goals. But we all know they headed into these third frames already down on the scoresheet. Shouldnt there be some kind of a push?

    Brooke: Lack Of Accountability

When a team is on any kind of losing streak, you want the team to show some type of accountability. Especially when the Blackhawks hit a five-game losing streak, you want the team to show some emotion and honesty. Instead, the team and the coaches keep deflecting the issues.

RELATED: Blackhawks Who Need to Make Their Mark on the 2021-22 Season

Players like Jonathan Toews, Patrick Kane, and Seth Jones all keep echoing the sentiment to the media that they have a good team and system. Head coach Jeremy Colliton says hes confident in this team.

Weve just got to keep going. Disappointing, obviously, but we need to win one game and I think we can build some momentum from there, head coach Jeremy Colliton said. Weve got to find a way to break through. I dont think we played poorly, I dont think we played great, but we played solid.

When the coaches, players, and management all refuse to take responsibility for the on-ice product, it seems like the cycle of losing will continue.

Golden Knights’ Nicolas Roy: Waiting On Test Results

Roy , who took a cross check to his back during Thursday’s preseason game versus LA, is awaiting test results to determine the severity of his injury, Jesse Granger of The Athletic reports.

Another update on Roy, who picked up 15 points through 50 games last season, should surface once the Golden Knights receive his test results. The 24-year-old forward won’t play Friday against the Kings, and at this point he should probably be considered a longshot for Tuesday’s preseason matchup with the Avalanche as well.

    Jack Eichel Still A Consideration

    Vegas Golden Knights: Must

This past week, there has been plenty of chatter heating up once again regarding Eichel being moved. The 24-year-old is being forced to sit around and wait for a deal as he and the Sabres are still in disagreement over what type of surgery he should have.

One of the teams being discussed as a serious candidate to land Eichel is the Golden Knights. However, that may be difficult because they have reportedly told the Sabres they are unwilling to include Krebs in their package. .

Obviously, if and when the Sabres move Eichel, they will require a few top prospects and/or picks. The 20-year-old Krebs would be a player they would love to acquire, but it appears that isnt a possibility. You can understand the Golden Knights stance on this, given that Krebs has the makings of a future NHL superstar. Through just two American Hockey League games this season, he already has five points.

However, the Golden Knights do have several other great prospects, including Kaedan Korczak, Ivan Morozov, and Brendan Brisson. One of multiple of these players may be enough to interest the Sabres, though that remains to be seen. This will be a fascinating story to follow as it is anyones guess as to when a trade will finally happen.
