What Drama Can I Expect From Golden Boy
Golden Boy was created by Emmy award-winning writer Nicholas Wootton. He has written for and executive produced shows like NYPD Blue, Chuck, Law & Order, Prison Break and Scorpion.
So if you like crime shows with an investigation each episode, interspersed with a story about a man’s personal and professional struggles, Golden Boy is one to check out.
The series is also executive produced by Hollywood’s most prolific TV producer and writer Greg Berlanti. He started his career as a writer on Dawson’s Creek, and in more recent years has produced series like Riverdale, Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, You and Arrow.
While Golden Boy is one of Berlanti’s earlier executive producing projects, viewers can be sure his influence made the series as entertaining as possible.
What Is Golden Boy About
Golden Boy is the story of Kintaro Oe, a twenty-five-year-old in pursuit of life’s lessons. A brilliant student, he dropped out of Tokyo Universiy’s law program because he had had mastered the entire curriculum. Now he lives a simple life, traveling on his bicycle and working numerous part-time jobs ranging from software companies to noodle restaurants in order to learn everything that he can about the world. Although he’s a kind and giving person, Kintaro’s only weakness lies in his lust for beautiful women. However, as long as he can control himself, he may just manage to save the day, and win a few hearts in the process.

Who Stars In Golden Boy
Apart from Theo James, who was most recently seen in British period drama Sanditon, there are a few familiar faces in Golden Boy.
Lucifer‘s Kevin Alejandro plays Detective Christian Arroyo while Code Black actress Bonnie Sommerville is Detective Deb McKenzie.

Holt McCallany from Mindhunter portrays Detective Joe Diaco, and the police squad is rounded out by acclaimed actor Chi McBride from Boston Public and Pushing Daisies as Detective Don Owen.
