Warriors Players Likely On A Minutes Restriction Tonight
The Golden State Warriors will take on the Los Angeles Lakers tonight in what should be an exciting season opener. Unfortunately, two key contributors on Steve Kerrs squad might not receive a lot of playing time due to conditioning.
On Tuesday afternoon, Kerr announced that Draymond Green and Andrew Wiggins will most likely be on a minutes restriction against the Lakers.
Green and Wiggins will be included in the Warriors starting lineup alongside Steph Curry, Jordan Poole and Kevon Looney. Itll be interesting to see how many minutes they receive, though.
If Green and Wiggins are unable to deal with a large workload tonight, Kerr could rely on Andre Iguodala and Otto Porter Jr. to come off the bench and contribute.

Weatherspoon signed a contract with the Warriors on Monday, Evan Webeck of The San Jose Mercury News reports.
Golden State’s press release doesn’t specify the terms of Weatherspoon’s deal, but he’s presumably joining the club on an Exhibit 10 contract, which would allow the Warriors to retain his G League rights in the likely event he’s waived before the start of the regular season. While playing under two-way deals for the Spurs in both of the past two seasons, Weatherspoon appeared in 31 games and averaged 1.9 points in 6.4 minutes per contest.
Warriors’ Jonathan Kuminga: Strains Patella Tendon
Kuminga suffered a strained patella tendon in his right knee during Wednesday’s preseason game and will be re-evaluated in one week, Nick Friedell of ESPN.com reports.
Kuminga is presumably out for the remainder of the preseason, and his status for the regular-season opener Oct. 19 against the Lakers is in jeopardy. If the rookie is forced to miss time early in the season, more minutes could be available for Otto Porter, Moses Moody, Damion Lee and Andre Iguodala. The Warriors have a wealth of potential options, so it’s tough to know if there will be an actionable beneficiary in terms of upward fantasy production.

What Is Nicolas Batum’s Status For Tonight’s Game Against The Golden State Warriors
The LA Clippers are all set to fight the Golden State Warriors at the Chase Center on Thursday. The Warriors began their season by besting the other Los Angeles team on Tuesday.
The Clippers will face this tough opponent without the likes of Serge Ibaka, Keon Johnson, Kawhi Leonard and Jason Preston, who are all reportedly injured or ill.

At the time of writing this article, the spread has the favored Lakers at -4. This makes sense as they deal with less significant injuries than the Warriors, who are without Thompson and Wiseman. Golden State is dealing with a few injuries to key players to start this year however, the Warriors should be used to it after the past two seasons. While Klay Thompson and James Wiseman should be available for most of the season, they will be out for this contest against the Lakers. Poole had looked every bit the part of starter throughout the preseason in addition to last season when Curry was out, and he had to start in his place. He can be a candidate for Most Improved Player if he plays as well as he has looked recently. Meanwhile, Kevon Looney will start instead of James Wiseman, who is still recovering from a meniscus injury.
The Warriors should keep this game close regardless of the injuries because of their discipline, coaching, and defense. If they shoot well, and Steph Curry has a performance that looks like one from his 2020-21 season, they could certainly beat the Lakers on the road.
