What Is A Season Pass
A season pass allows a pass holder to visit the park an unlimited number of times throughout the ‘season’ in a year, on all days that are open to the public.
These passes offer benefits including early access to Soak City, access to special events, and discounts, which we will all cover later.
The reason that it’s not an ‘Annual Pass’ is due to Kings Island not being open every month of the year. Typically Kings Island closes in the Winter months due to the snow , prior to temporarily opening back up for Winterfest.
How To Save Money On Drinks At Kings Island
Drinks can add up quickly if you are purchasing them separately. Its really important to stay hydrated during your visit to the park, especially on a hot day.
There are small courtesy water cups available but if you want a large cup that can use all day the Kings Island Souvenir Bottle is your best value.
You can save $2 on the Souvenir Bottle if you buy it online.
The Souvenir Bottle includes FREE refills on your first visit for Coca-Cola beverages including Hi-C Fruit Punch and Powerade.
For the rest of the season including WinterFest, refills are only $1. *There is a 15 minute interval time between refills.
Kings Island Military Discounts
If you are active or retired military personnel or a veteran, you are eligible for cheaper single-day tickets than you would otherwise buy at the gate. Kings Island military discounts are valid during every operating day. Discounts may vary throughout the season.
Take advantage of these savings online but be sure to register for ID.me. Unless otherwise indicated, these discounts dont apply to special events like WinterFest.

Does Kings Island Offer Dining Deals
Yes. There are four food and drink specials available at the park.
- Souvenir Bottle: Save $2 when you buy a bottle online for $11.99. The first use of the season is free. Each refill is $1. Refills limited to 15-minute intervals. Other restrictions may apply.
- All Season Drink Refills: This online beverage option allows you to get free unlimited drink refills with or without the souvenir bottle for $29.99. Refills limited to 15-minute intervals. Other restrictions may apply.
- All Day Dining: Score an entree and a side at any of the participating park restaurants for one day when pay $29.99 online. Valid through Oct. 27. Limited to 90-minute intervals between meals. Other restrictions may apply.
- All Season Dining: Enjoy lunch and dinner with every visit with an online purchase of $130. Limited to four-hour intervals between meals. Participating locations and menus subject to change without notice. Other restrictions may apply.
Kings Island Makes 2020 Season Passes Valid Through 2021 Season
CINCINNATI – Kings Island is making 2020 Season Passes valid through the 2021 Season, according to a park spokesperson.
Regular, Gold and Platinum Season Passes, as well as 2020 Season Pass Ad-Ons, will be valid once the park opens and will be extended through the 2021 season according to pass type.
The CEO of Cedar Fair Entertainment Company says Season Passes will also be valid on days that will be added to the parks calendar because of its closure due to COVID-19.
Richard Zimmerman says they hope to open Kings Island by mid-May or as soon thereafter as possible, according to his statement on the parks website.
If you bought a ticket for a specific date that cant be used while the park is closed, you will get a ticket for another day that you choose through Nov. 1, 2020 – excluding special event tickets – or you may get a refund for the specific day admission ticket amount.
Unexpired tickets may be used for any one public operating day through Dec. 31, 2020.
Additionally, for 2020 season passholders participating in the easy pay program, monthly billing has been suspended as of April 8, 2020, and will remain suspended while the park is closed. When the park reopens, billing will resume. Passholders will need to be current on payments to receive both 2020 and 2021 Season Pass admission and associated benefits, according to the spokesperson.

Kings Island has special seasonal events that enhance your visit even more. If you have a Gold or Platinum Kings Island Season Pass you can enjoy the additional activities and shows.
This allows you to visit without the stress of trying to cram everything in one day if you only have an admission ticket.
Season Pass holders also have unlimited visits for the following:
- Soak City Waterpark
- Haunt
- WinterFest
*Previous Season Pass holders can save money on the Gold Pass by renewing each year vs. purchasing a brand new pass.

- Gold Pass: Unlimited visits and free parking on every public operating day in 2019. Offer includes exclusive discounts, early park access, and more. Cost is Taxes and fees not included. Cost is $115 per pass or five payments of $18 after initial $25 down payment. Taxes and fees not included.
- Platinum Pass: Enjoy all the Gold Pass perks at Kings Island, as well as all Cedar Fair Parks including Cedar Point, Kings Dominion, Knott’s Berry Farm and more. Cost is $218 per pass or five payments of $35.50 after initial $40.50 down payment. Taxes and fees not included.

Why We Liked The All Day Dining Ticket
Weve used the All Day Dining ticket whenever we visit Cedar Point Amusement Park in Sandusky, Ohio. This is a great option if you are visiting Kings Island from out of town and dont have a Gold Season Pass with an All Season Dining Plan.
When we visit Cedar Point, we typically stay from when the park opens until closing time.
What I like about the All Day Dining ticket is that you can eat every 90 minutes, not that we need to.
Pro tip: We set a timer on our phones to track the time when we eat a meal or snack.
If anyone is hungry or wants a snack throughout the day its not a big deal because its covered. I have two teenage boys and they are ALWAYS hungry.
We definitely get our moneys worth with this dining option.
The All-Day Dining Ticket has an assortment of restaurants to choose from which is also nice if your family has different dining preferences or special dietary needs.
In my opinion, 1000% YES!!!
The Kings Island All Day Dining actually saves me money.
I have teenage boys. Enough said.
I love that I dont have to give them extra money if they go to the park without me.
We also save money because we used to eat out before or after our visit. It doesnt matter if you walk into the park on a full stomach, as soon as you get there, you tend to become hungry.
I also dont enjoy cooking and I love that each time that we visit Kings Island our meals are included which means less cooking and prep for me.

Cedar Point Season Passes Perks
The perks mentioned above are just a snapshot of some of the perks associated with season passes at Cedar Point. What perks are most valuable, especially to a family of six like ours? While we love all the extra bonuses, its all about the rides and the food! The fact that you can get early access to the park and access to Cedar Point Shores anytime makes the Platinum Pass a great deal. The fact that we can get in free to all of the other Cedar Fair parks, like Kings Island, Michigans Adventure, and Dorney Park is incredible!
The dining plans sound like a great deal, although we generally pack our own lunch to save money at Cedar Point. We just take a break and head out to the picnic area outside the main gate and then re-enter the park. Then, we dine at one of Cedar Points restaurants for dinner. But if you dont care to pack your own food or dont want to leave the park, check out the dining plan for your family.
Update: Cedar Point removed most of the picnic area that has been a staple outside the front of the park forever. There are only a handful of picnic tables left and usually, people leave coolers to reserve them, so good luck if you are packing a picnic lunch during your visit.

Cabanas are available at Beakers Bay and Tidal Wave Bay inside Soak City Waterpark. Gold and Platinum Pass holders receive a $20 discount.

Quality Family Time
Investing in a Kings Island Gold season pass over the years is something that Ive never regretted because its something that we do TOGETHER as a family.
My family stage is currently at the ditch us to spend time with their friends stage at the park. We dont mind bringing friends because we know that its a safe environment and we will still get quality time in the car.
