How Express Pass Works At The Rides
The Express Pass is also known as the Universal Express Pass or Universal Express Ticket.
It is an upgrade on the General Admission Ticket, the cheapest and most popular way to enter Universal Studios.
The Express Pass also includes access to the Universal Studios Hollywood Studio Tour, the 60-minute tram tour around the backlots.
When you purchase an Express Ticket, it gets emailed to you.

Parking At Universal Studios Hollywood
If youre going just for one day, the current parking rates as of Summer 2022 are as follows:
General Parking Before 5 PM $30 per vehicle
General Parking After 5 PM $10 per vehicle
Preferred Parking Before 5 PM $45 per vehicle
Preferred Parking After 5 PM $20 per vehicle
Front Gate Parking $60 per vehicle
Some annual passes include parking with admission, like the Gold pass and above. With these passes, general parking is included but you can also pay a surcharge to upgrade to preferred parking or front gate parking when available.
Generally with these passes the parking is only included if you visit before 5 PM. After 5 PM youll have to pay the $10 for general parking or whichever parking you want to get.

Getting There Universal Studios Hollywood One Day Itinerary
Universal Studios Hollywood is located at 100 Universal City Plaza, Universal City, CA 91608. For most GPS/Map systems, you should just be able to search Universal Studios Hollywood and itll send you right to the parking structure.
It is located right off of the 101 Freeway, so you can take that whether youre coming from the North or the South.
If youre taking public transportation, you can take the Metro to the corner of Lankershim and Universal Hollywood Drive.
Youll take the Universal City Red Line to get here. Then take the pedestrian bridge to the park. I highly recommend using the Metro Trip Planner to get exact routes and times.
Disneyland Magic Key Passes
Disneyland Resorts in Anaheim, California, offers four annual pass tiers in its Magic Key program. Like Universal Studios, a Disneyland Magic Key is only valid in the California location.

Renewing An Annual Pass
There are a couple of different things that can happen when your Universal Annual Pass expires. For Guests who have paid for their Annual Passes in full, there is not a renewal process. A Guest that has paid in full for their Annual Pass will simply have to get a new Annual Pass when their current pass expires. At that point, they can either change the pass they have, keep the same type of pass, or even upgrade. They can also decide to change to Flex Payments if they would like.
For those who have an Annual Pass through Flex Pay, there is no need to renew your pass at all! When your Annual Pass is about to expire, Universal will email you saying that you will continue with your pass on a month-to-month basis. The email will tell you how much you will be paying monthly which will be a little higher since you will not be making a down payment but you can cancel at any time.
For Flex Pay Pass Members, you can also choose not to do monthly payments. If you decide to go that route, you will have to buy a new Annual Pass when you want one, and put down another down payment.

How Much Are Aaa Universal Studios Tickets
AAA and the CAA, the Canadian equivalent both offer slight Universal Studios discounts to their members.
All AAA and CAA members get $3 off all admission into Universal Studios when purchasing tickets from the front gate. Also, members get 10% off many locations at the Universal CityWalk restaurants.
Just like all of the other general admission for Universal Studios Hollywood, you will save the most when you purchase your tickets in advance on the AAA and CAA joint website. There can be deals on Universal Studios during the off season, however these still rarely compare to the discounts that are exclusively for Mickey Visit subscribers.
What If I Am A California Resident
California residents get slightly discounted tickets for one day admission. You still have to go through the same process as above by choosing the exact date you want to visit, but you also have to show proof of residency to take advantage of this offer.
Like I said, this is a slight discount. The prices are tiered just like regular tickets and they correspond to the same tiers as above, but the prices range from $104, $109, $114, $119, $124, $134, and $139.
So when regular ticket prices are $109, they are $104 for California residents, and so on.

Are Annual Passes Worth It
The biggest decision to make when purchasing a Universal Studios Annual Pass is the cost. Is it worth the price? In short, yes. In most cases, an Annual Pass will pay for itself in just a few visits to the theme park. It is especially worth it if you live close to Universal Studios Hollywood. Universal Hollywood is not a large park, so it is not a park that Guests need to dedicate a whole day to if they do not wish to. Sometimes hopping down to the park to ride an attraction or two and grab a bite to eat are all that is needed to have a great time!

Should You Get A Universal Studios Hollywood Annual Pass
This largely depends on how often you plan on visiting the park in a single calendar year. A 1-day general admission ticket costs between $109 and $129 and the cheapest season pass costs $149, so if you are a California resident planning on visiting more than once in a 9-month period it would make sense to get a season pass, unless you only plan on visiting during weekends/holidays/blackout dates.
The top tier annual pass costs $459 for the entire year, so you would need to visit at least four times to make the price worth it.
There are of course other costs to factor in like parking fees and pass discounts, so the answer to the question is an annual pass right for me is going to vary from person to person.
