I love the stunning, bold graphics and scenery. The characters are likable, and the story is fun to follow. I would like to see a little more danger. I enjoy the subtle references to the the other Gamehouse games, and the story relating to Snuggford. I think it would be cool, if as a bonus game, you have to visit some of the Snuggford characters and then have to play a round of their games. I loved the hidden object mini game. Level 44 mini game was incredibly difficult, which I enjoyed the challenge. Flying the hot air balloon across the dessert and trying to find the mouse, was very tedious and boring, least favorite part of the game! If the balloon was much faster, it might be bearable. I didnt mind the catch 25 mice mini game, but the mini game was played too much for my taste. I absolutely hated the camel race and trying! What are we three year olds? Challenge us more than just pushing a button! Throw in some run and jump at least. Putting together the puzzles was fun, I enjoyed beating the timer. Making the tea was cute. Level 57, the three rings…what the heck was the rhyme and reason to that puzzle? Made no sense! I felt the game was too short, I finished it in two days.

How to Play
Mortimer Beckett and the Book of Gold is a hidden object game. The goal is to find the items or pieces of items necessary to progress. Sometimes you will encounter puzzles or minigames you will need to solve to continue. Use the scroll wheel on your mouse or the pinch gesture on your phone to zoom in and out of hidden object scenes.
Challenges
There are 18 challenges you can complete during the game: 3 for each chapter. Challenge types include:
- Silhouette Challenge Find the items matching the silhouettes displayed.
- Mice Challenge Find the number of mice specified in a limited amount of time.
- Jigsaw Challenge Assemble the puzzle pieces to create a photo.

Mice Locations
Carl the mouse has returned in this game, but things are a little different this time around! A mouse is hidden in each of the games 60 story levels. Mice are transparent and will be difficult to find. As the hint button charges, the mouse will slowly come out of hiding. The further along the hint charge is, the more visible the mouse will be. After the hint has fully charged, the mouse will slowly slip back into hiding.

I never spend money on apps unless its gamehouse, especially $10 for one. Thanks to countless teen hours of playing diner/hotel dash, Im hooked on that style of game that they create. I also played way too much Myst, so I got really excited when I found this which is a sort of combo of the two. Im so disappointed because I did really enjoy this game. The problem is that I beat it in two sittings which was maybe 3 hours. When I hit buy now I expected the quality and hours that Ive got from all of their other games Ive purchased . There were multiple levels that I beat in under 30 seconds. I guess I just feel sort of scammed. Prior to this one I bought the two Sallys Salon games and spent a good 3+ weeks finishing them, so its a significant difference. I really hate leaving these guys a bad review because everything else has been so good, but I really do feel scammed lol. If you dont mind it being short its definitely fun to play! just not up to expectations for me. Too short and easy.
