Todd And Crew Profiting From Mining Quickly

As one post on Reddit pointed out, They really expect us to believe Todd is close to turning a profit when He’s mining like 50-100oz a week, running 3 mines with 10+ employees, 3 washplants and several million+ worth of leased equipment? No way. 50oz is about $65k, if I remember correctly he’s paying 10% for the land so really he’s getting about $48k. No way that even covers wages and fuel.

Parker Schnabel Net Worth & Salary How Much Is Parker From Gold Rush Worth

How Much Does The Gold Rush Cast Get Paid

Parker Schnabel is the young prodigy who became one of the biggest gold miners to be famous around the world. Schnabels grandfather, John Schnabel, was the original leading gold miner and the owner of Big Nugget Mine in Porcupine Creek, Alaska. While John was the main star in season 1, we did see little 15-year-old Parker Schnabel guest-star in some episodes.

Little did we know, Parker Schnabel was a prodigy in the making that was accompanying his grandfather to the gold mine since he was five years old. Born on July 22, 1994, Parker became a permanent Gold Rush cast since season 2, overtaking the operations of his grandfathers mine. By 18 years old, Schnabel was leasing grounds from co-star and gold mining legend, Tony Beets, and by 24 years old, he had mined over $13 million worth of gold in total.

Sadly, Parkers grandfather, mentor, and Gold Rush cast for over six seasons passed away on March 18, 2016, in his sleep. The very next season of Gold Rush was all about Parker Schnabel dedicating it to his grandfather, who had been by his side throughout his career until then.

This season, Tony also plans to reopen his Indian River operation, having spent more than $5 million in new gear to mine it and the Paradise Hill claims 24/7. However, there is one big problem: There is no water license on the Indian river.

Meanwhile, returning miner Rick Ness starts the year on a hot paystreak and ahead of schedule. Have People Left The Show Due To The Wages

While some Gold Rush cast members have followed in the footsteps of their families such as Parker Schnabel and Monica Beets, others have joined the gold mining trade later in the game such as Fred Lewis.

Given that some of the cast members come from mining families, their financial situation may have differed from people who have joined the show without previous experience, however, this is just a guess.

Even people who have mining families, such as Fred Hurt, have publicly spoken about how he had to leave the Discovery show due to financial reasons.

Looper reported in 2021 that Fred left Gold Rush back in season 5 because he didnt have enough money to carry on. In a Facebook post at the time, Fred wrote: If you want a Miner, call me.if you want an Actor, pay me like one.

He also wrote that he was a working-class man that isnt rich. However, some viewers fired back at Fred and questioned how much he was earning per episode. Red Lasso reported that cast members could earn between $10,000 and $25,000 per episode. However, it is worth considering how much the teams have to spend out on equipment and workers to even get the ball rolling on Gold Rush each season. Some years, teams have had to give up before the season has really got going such as Fred Lewis.

The miner was spending $5,000 a week in the hope of breaking even and after the crew only mined $8000 worth of gold for the entire season, none of them got paid and everyone went home.

In Season 11, which started last Friday, Fred Lewis becomes the newest mine boss. Lewis, who lives in the Tri-Cities area in Southeast Washington, may be a greenhorn as a mine boss, but he worked with Gold Rush veteran Parker Schnabel in the Yukon, and in the spinoff series, Gold Rush: Parkers Trail.
