Foxflower Farming Or Maybe Other Herbs But Seriously Foxflower

WoW players are undeniably lazy , and many dont like farming herbs. Foxflower, at least on my server, ranges from 50g-90g each, and you can get a decent amount of them every day by farming it specifically, or farming mobs with the Harvester shoulder enchant.

Unfortunately, its not super easy to come by, but the good news is youll also get Blood of Sargeras . Foxflower is found in Highmountain, and although the zone has a lot of verticality to it, youll still come away with a decent stack, unless someone else is farming there, too. Then, youre screwed.

For Foxflower farming, youre basically going to want to go all over the zone, as there really isnt a great route for it. I tend to start at Thunder Totem and work my way around it, then north through Skyhorn, then through the cave to Cliffs Edge, and back down through Trushot Lodge and back to Thundertotem. Its a solid route, but farm the areas you find easiest to maneuver.

World Quests & Reputation Farming In Older Expansions

Unfortunately, Blizzard has greatly nerfed the amount of gold generated from the Paragon Chests of Legion and Battle for Azeroth content. Legion chests only provide a measly 40 gold, while BfA chests provide around a moderate 400 gold.

In regards to Legion, its incredibly convenient to have access to automatic flying and the ability to one-shot any open-world mob. Sadly, we cant really recommend going out of your way to farm reputation and gold quests, as the return on time investment is just too low.

However, its not the gold quests that are the main appeal but instead the Order Resource and Blood of Sargeras world quests that are of interest, as you can buy copious amounts of Legion crafting resources with these.

There is a vendor in Legions Dalaran called Illnea Bloodthorn where you can trade in Blood of Sargeras for all the base crafting materials pre-Argus. Conversely, if youre running low on Blood of Sargeras, you can buy five of them for 5000 Order Resources in Class Hall from your quartermaster. And believe me, if you do world quests in Legion, you will have a lot of Order Resources. Well go into how you can make money with these in our Profession Material section below.

As for BfA, gold quests still offer fairly lucrative rewards, especially if you have War Mode enabled. At around 200 gold per quest, its pretty easy and profitable to knock them out, as long as youve unlocked flying.

Best Profession Materials In Older Expansions

Now well go over how you can make gold with all those reagents from previous expansions you have stored in your bank .

Mists of Pandaria

The name of the game is Motes of Harmony/Spirit of Harmony. During this era of WoW, every profession required ludicrous amounts of this material to craft. Thankfully, they randomly dropped off any mob in Pandaria.

Nowadays, theyre used mainly to bypass the daily Living Steel transmute for building mounts. Alternatively, much like Legion, you can trade Spirits of Harmony to a vendor in the Vale of Eternal Blossoms outside your factions sanctum for any other MoP crafting material.

If you figure out which materials are in high demand for a better price on your server, you can easily flip all the Spirits of Harmony into that material and make a killing. Especially if you find the Spirits for cheap on the Auction House .

Warlords of Draenor

True Iron Ore and Sumptuous Fur are in incredible demand, as Engineers craft Goblin Glider Kits from them. While were still in the flightless era of Shadowlands, having a Goblin Glider on standby to get places faster from vantage points, prevent fall damage, or escape from a pack of rabid enemies is priceless. We recommend focusing on the ore, as its more time-consuming to obtain than the fur, making it more valuable.

Legion

As we mentioned in the World Quests section, being able to trade in Blood of Sargeras for crafting materials can be very lucrative. Even more valuable, however, is Leystone Ore.

Moving Gold From Retail To Classic

Hey, as the title says.

I know it wont be protected as there will be 2 separate trades, but is there anything in the ToS that means you cant trade gold in retail for gold in classic?

Im not sure but I imagine its frowned upon as there isnt a supported way to do it so its open to abuse and you could lose your gold and be scammed.

I would go by the rule that if you arent sure then its not worth the risk.

This is what i was thinking. But then Im worried about getting caught in an automated system for receiving x amount of gold on classic in exchange for nothing. Might just make a ticket and ask.

Relax mate, trading in game is not forbidden and not banable, regardless of how much gold is traded.

I read an earlier post it is actually confirmed by the staff it is against the ToS. But feel free to make another ticket I suppose.

I wouldnt try to do this until I heard it from someone that actually works for Blizzard.

Well thats a risk, but theres nothing to save you from that, becaue you cant prove that you hadnt pay real money for that gold. I doubt even providing screenshots of you giving the gold on retail will help much.

In retail, there are a plethora of addons for working the auction house. From simple ones to give you price estimates, to cleaning up the U.I., to helping you snipe items. If you havent heard the term sniping before, its a simple concept. Sniping is a term used to describe a player that buys underpriced or incorrectly listed items as fast as possible. With sniping addons, a player that forgets a 0 when listing an item may find their item has already been sniped before they can cancel the auction.

I have no idea what sort of trading addons well see for Classic WoW, nor do I follow any updates on them. Personally, I dont use many addons in retail or other games like ESO besides a couple core trading addons, and even then I dont always use those. I tried my hand at sniping with the assistance of an addon last year for a time as I hadnt really before and found that it was rather effective. I definitely made gold, as some people list unknowingly rare items for cheap, undercut normal items, or make a mistake. I didnt enjoy it too much and didnt snipe for too long, but many people still do regularly.

Staying Frugal Saving Up

One of the easiest ways to save gold is by simply saving it. Ask yourself: do I really need this piece of armor? This bag? Do I need to fly here and spend coin? Etc. Its always tempting to buy that piece of armor that adds a slight bonus, but this is usually unnecessary when youre leveling.

Unless youve got some sort of special goal youre trying for, Id recommend holding off from buying armor from the auction house while youre leveling unless you can absolutely afford it. Starting out, none of us will truly be able to afford it. Questing and dungeons are a good solution for acquiring armor as we begin to level.

A wide variety of bags can also be found via questing if you want to save gold that way. This video I watched a while back stuck with me because I never realized how many bags you could acquire for free if you took the time to do their respective quests or farm certain mobs.

I remember the initial struggle for bag space when I started playing during BC back in the day, and getting free bags via questing is something Im looking forward to in Classic now that I know about them. Unless youre absolutely dying for bag space immediately, wait and get a bag somewhere else. Buying them from vendors isnt the best idea considering the cost.

Another super quick and easy way to make gold in Legion is to capitalize on the brand new wave of new pets. Some of these pets are more lucrative than others, but if you have a particularly lazy server, you can easily make 4K gold in minutes if youre lucky.

For example, check out the Crispin pet, which drops from Tenpak Flametotem, a rare silver mob in Highmountain. He spawns at 42.0, 41.6, and he has a 7% chance to drop Crispin, an all-black squirrel pet. 7% might not seem like a big enough number to go seek him out, but Ill note that a) he respawns quickly and b) its best to farm with a friend as to increase your kill rate and split the earnings. Crispin sells for a min of 2K gold and Ive seen it go for up to 5.5K gold . Cage this pet when you get it, and make sure youre slightly undercutting the low.

There are also some request reward pets that you can cage and sell, like the Untethered Wyrmling thats a reward from the Balance to Spare quest in Suramar. The Untethered Wyrmling sells for much more than Crispin, but unfortunately, its a one-time deal (unless you have multiple characters over level 100, of course. On my server, the low is 5.5K and the high is 9K.
