America’s Got Talent Season 16 is currently airing on NBC, with auditions set to run throughout June and July. As has been the case on AGT for the last few seasons, each of the hosts and host Terry Crews has a Golden Buzzer which automatically sends their favorite act to the live shows.
A Golden Buzzer can mean big things for an act on the show. Acts who were buzzed with it and then went on to win include last season’s champ Brandon Leake , Season 14 winner Kodi Lee and Season 12 victor Darci Lynne . In fact, since the buzzer was introduced, five out of six of the winning acts have reached the live shows via Golden Buzzer. Here’s who could be joining them in America’s Got Talent 2021.
Fake: Courtney Hadwin Got A Golden Buzzer After Performing
Another entry to Reddit claimed, I ended up seeing Courtney Hadwin. I saw her get the golden buzzer, but I didnt see her perform. The producers told us they were filming a golden buzzer scene. They then proceeded to coach us on what to due when howie hit the golden buzzer. The producer would hit the buzzer and everyone would jump up and scream. Courtney then walked out on stage and didnt say a word.
What Is The Britain’s Got Talent Golden Buzzer
All four of the shows judges have red buzzers which they use to vote off acts they don’t like – if four red buzzers illuminate the four Xs above the stage, the ‘talent’ has to end their act there and then and their dreams of glory are over.
In the centre of the judges’ desk is a sole Golden Buzzer. This can be pressed once by each judge during the auditions if they think an act deserves to go straight through to the live semi-finals rather than having to face a nervous wait as the quartet whittle down their picks to the 40 or so who take part in the live shows.
Hosts Ant and Dec also have a Golden Buzzer pick between them – they just have to step down from the stage to press it.
If an act receives the Golden Buzzer from one of the judges or the presenters even if all the others have pressed their red buzzers – they are guaranteed to go into the live semi-finals.
David Walliams, in particular, is known for pressing the Golden Buzzer for acts who have received a red buzzer from all his fellow judges. When it is pressed, the relevant judge’s ‘X’ above the stage turns gold and golden confetti rains down on the stage.
Once a judge or the presenters have pressed the Golden Buzzer in a series, they cannot do so again in the same series.

Fake: Some Contestants Have Dramatic Back Stories
As it turns out, it seems the show doesnt readily check the contestants backstories. For instance, season seven contestant Timothy Poe once claimed that he was a war veteran how had learned to sing after he was hit with a grenade while in Afghanistan. Later on, it emerged that he faked the military photo he submitted to the show. Meanwhile, according to the Daily Mail, The army disputes his claims of having been injured in an IED explosion in Iraq, and of having been hit by a grenade in Afghanistan.

I am so sad to announce that I wont be able to continue forward on this season of AGT.

Real: Only One Magician Has Won
Sure, magic acts seem to be popular on Americas Got Talent, but that doesnt mean that magicians readily win. In fact, it seems that only one magician has won the show so far. That honor goes to Mat Franco who had won the grand prize during the shows ninth season. Needless to say, hes inspired other magic acts to try their luck too.
Things Changed Down The Road
Season 10 brought with it a few changes to the golden buzzers rules. While it had initially just sent the contestants to the next round, any act who got the golden buzzer moment headed straight to the live shows. Howie Mandel was the first to use it under these new rules. Guess he always got dibs!
Apart from the above rule, guest judges were also given the go-ahead to use the golden buzzer. Neil Patrick Harris was the first guest judge to use it with coveted moment going to magician Piff the Magic Dragon.
The number of people allowed to use the golden buzzer increased in season 11 with the host being the new entrant. Nick Cannon was the first host to enjoy this privilege as he gave a show lifeline to Dorothy Williams, a striptease dancer.
The golden buzzer is like the coveted chalice that all contestants strive for considering that it instantly gives them a chance to perform in live shows. However, while automatically advancing to the live shows is a big win for the acts, it also implies that the recipients will have less audience exposure compared to their counterparts who make it the live shows without the buzzer. In other words, the acts may not get an opportunity to make another impression on the audience until the live shows.

What Does It Mean To Receive A Golden Buzzer
Any acts that receive a Golden Buzzer from one of the judges automatically move on to the live shows, which will air later on in the season.
According to Channel 3 News in Las Vegas,Americas Got Talent will be heading to the Las Vegas strip as part of a residency.
I am beyond thrilled that this is now going to happen, Simon Cowell said in a press release, according to the outlet. And extremely proud to be working with MGM and to have the Luxor Hotel as our home.
There will be multiple acts from Americas Got Talent performing on the strip each Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday at the Luxor Theater. They will not be performing on Mondays or Tuesdays, however.
Tickets for the live show come in at $49 plus taxes and fees. They can be purchased online here.

The judges cant stop laughing even Heidi, who seems to rarely laugh at stand-up and they all seem to love Cam and his act.
