How Guest Reviews Work
Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score, we add up all the review scores and divide that total by the number of review scores we received. Guests can also give separate subscores in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free WiFi. Guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently theres no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didnt actually stay there. To edit a review youve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we’d publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we wont display any reviews that include or refer to :
- Politically sensitive comments
- Personal or sensitive info
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence

Who Sleeps In Vegas
Our host hotel for the Taylor/Brown wedding is The Golden Nugget Hotel and Casino. Personally, we love the Rush Tower, but weve reserved a block of rooms located in three different towers with different price points to cater to everyones budget.
We know many of our friends & family travel to Las Vegas often and may be using your room comps at other hotels in the area. For those unfamiliar with Las Vegas, we recommend staying Downtown between June 22-25.

About Rush Tower At Golden Nugget

At the Gold Nugget Hotel and Casino, guests can avoid the hustle of the strip while enjoying the same excitement of being in the middle of a never-ending party. With live music, dazzling light shows, and the worlds largest gold nugget, guests will find plenty to enjoy. The hotel property boasts 2.000 rooms.
All rooms come with a 42 television, en-suite bathroom, bell-service, in-room safe, and Wi-Fi Internet. Guests can choose from two double, two queen, or single king-sized bed. All beds are covered with Egyptian cotton linens. Luxury rooms include access to the spa. Some rooms have a view of the pool.
Dogs are welcome at the Gold Nugget Hotel and Casino. There is a nightly fee to bring for guests to bring their fur-baby with them. The hotel limits the number of dogs to two small to medium-sized dogs, weight of 2 to 34.9 pounds or one large dog, weight of 35 to 50 pounds. Dog-friendly rooms must be booked in advance.
Some rooms do have a mini fridge in the room. However, those without a refrigerator may request on for a fee of $33.90 per day.
Guests can enjoy the 200,000-gallon shark tank aquarium pool. This three-story pool has 17 private cabanas. The pool is open seasonally from February to November. During operation, the pool is open from 9 am to 7 pm from May to August. Before May and after August, the pool closes at 6 pm. Guests can enjoy the pool deck until 1 am.
Golden Nugget Poker Promotions
There are several poker promotions at Golden Nugget. These include hourly high hands and a bonus for making four of a kind, straight flush or royal flush. The quads and straight flushes start at $50 and progress to $599 or until hit. Royal flushes are paid by suit and start at $200. The royal flush progressive is uncapped. The four of a kind and straight flush payouts double between 8am and 2pm daily.
There is a $10,000 progressive bad beat jackpot. It hits when at least four of a kind deuces or better lose. The jackpots are funded by a $1 drop. Players must use both hole cards for straight and royal flushes. Four of a kind hands must use a pocket paid to qualify. Players earn $2 an hour when clocked in with a 24K Select card.

Golden Nugget Back In Business Reopening Planned For Summer
Sunday, March 15, 2020, was the last day anyone ate at the Golden Nugget Pancake House in Kettering.
One day later, Governor DeWine shut down Ohio because of what COVID-19 was doing to our communities, our state, and the country.
The Nuggets owner said they hoped to be back open in a couple of weeks after COVID passed.
However, a couple of weeks turned into more than a couple of years.

Co-owner Stacey Frangomichalos said that Sunday in 2020 was the slowest Sunday ever. The dining room was not even half full.
Now, in 2022 is as if parts of the Nuggets lobby and restaurant have been frozen in time.
Tables are still set and the list of the next business days specials, including the Nuggets popular bacon and cheese omelet for $9.00.
Steve and Bessie Thomas opened the Nugget on west Dorothy Lane in 1962.
Over the years, the Thomas family opened two more Golden Nuggets, one on Salem Avenue and the other on Keowee Street.
John Thomas, one of their grandchildren, has wonderful memories of the time he spent sitting in the restaurants corner booth with his grandfather.
I always felt like the most important person in the world because I was beside him, said John.
He said his first job was at the Golden Nugget.
The family eventually sold their restaurant on Salem Ave.
When his grandfather passed away, Johns aunts took over the restaurants.
They then sold the restaurant on Keowee to focus on Kettering.

Different Towers Offer Different Room Experiences
Housed in four different towers, Golden Nugget Las Vegas rooms run the gamut in terms of size, decor, and amenities. The Carson Tower rooms were last renovated in 2018, given a contemporary, albeit bland neutral-tone makeover. The Spa Tower has suites with decor ranging from modern and masculine to gold and gaudy most rooms are two levels and have living spaces. Rush Tower rooms were first opened in 2009, and thus smell the least of smoke. Gold Tower rooms were updated in 2015, though decor verges on dated on the plus side, these are the most centrally located. Just beware when booking anything labeled city view likely looks over Fremont Street, which gets pretty noisy at night.
The cheapest rooms are the Run of the House rooms, which are assigned at check-in by front desk. Many guests complain that this doesnt all them to choose non-smoking or smoking rooms. Aside from that, Carson Tower rooms are the hotels most affordable an attractive incentive for a lot of guests. Despite renovations in 2018, many rooms are still tired and showing wear, as well as smelling strongly of smoke. Expect brown patterned carpeting and wall accents, and more decor in various shade of brown or gold. Bathrooms are teeny tiny and have standard shower/tub combos. Amenities are limited to flat-screen TVs, free Wi-Fi, sitting areas, hairdryers, basic toiletries, and ironing equipment. This is the farthest tower from all of the hotels amenities.
Several Dining Options Include Steakhouses A Buffet Restaurant And Fast
The Golden Nugget Las Vegas has 10 varied dining options across its property, including an all-you-can-eat buffet, a Starbucks, and high-end steakhouse. Vic & Anthonys is the on-site steakhouse, plus there are Grotto Italian Ristorante, Red Asian Cuisine serving sushi, Cadillac Mexican Kitchen. Casual American options are also available, in addition to fast-food fare Chick-fil-A. The Golden Nugget buffet is popular for all three meals. Numerous bars are scattered across the property, plus the property is home to Troy Liquor Bar, a popular Downtown nightclub.

I’ve only stayed in the Carson Tower at the Nugget. I didn’t care for it. I know the other rooms are better there though. I liked the D quite a bit. I’d choose the D.
I would pick The D and enjoy your passes to Stadium Swim at Circa.
That said, I enjoy spending time at The D.. never used to care for the GN and haven’t really been in there in years
I’m with jjacks and LAS in recommending the D. I haven’t stayed at GN but don’t like the casino’s atmosphere, layout or lighting.
I’ve stayed at the D many times, and each stay has been enjoyable: pleasant staff, very clean, the casino is lively.
Man now I am p@#ed because I hate rebooking stuff. I DID NOT know that you got free passes to Stadium Swim with a stay at the D. We wanted a pool and just thought the D had no pool choice. Teh deal at the D is about 30% less of the price.
I think the D suits a younger clientele better than the Nugget.
FWIW, Im a boomer and I prefer the Nugget. The D does have Sigma Derby upstairs tho

As a boomer, I agree with #7. I just don’t deal well with the noise at the D, and the rooms I’ve gotten have always been smaller. The GN pool is typically packed, but I believe the second level is quieter with cabanas available. I also enjoy all the food choices within the hotel.

Acquisition By Mgm Resorts
The company was acquired in 2000 by MGM Grand Inc., which then changed its name to MGM Mirage, for $6.4 billion, including $2 billion in assumed debt, after an initial all-cash offer of $17 per share and a final offer of $21 per share. The company was majority owned by Wynn. Although the Golden Nugget was profitable, it was not part of the master expansion plan of the corporation which was focused on consolidating a long stretch of the Strip, so MGM looked to sell the Golden Nugget.
