The background narration on Pawn Stars is often done by one of the Harrisons or Chumlee. Besides customer-staff interactions, the show also highlights the interpersonal conflicts between cast members.
Dont Expect To See The Stars
Unfortunately, the stars of the show rarely make live appearances at the shop. There is a cardboard photo opportunity in the back of the shop, however.
Youll have a better shot to see Rick Harrison at Ricks Rollin Smoke, his BBQ restaurant across the parking lot. His bartending appearances are commonly announced in advance .
Chumlee frequently makes appearances at his candy shop called Chumlees Candy on the Blvd., which is also across the parking lot in Pawn Plaza.
Here are some additional pictures I took while inside the Pawn Stars pawn shop:
Rick Harrison From Pawn Stars Has A Surprising Net Worth
Though one would imagine such a program as fairly niche, “Pawn Stars” has managed to become a worldwide phenomenon. Set against the backdrop of the now-world famous Gold & Silver Pawn Shop in Las Vegas, Nevada, the popular reality series is all about showcasing incredible artifacts and, more often than not, their purchase. Since 2009, folks have walked through the shop’s doors with everything from pieces of Disney history to fully-functioning fighter jets eager to sell their stuff and go home with a nice wad of cash. Of course, should a deal actually be struck.
Making a few bucks on “Pawn Stars” isn’t as simple as walking through the door, declaring your desired price, and dropping off your item. Rather, one has to negotiate with the Gold & Silver staff, including a few names that longtime viewers are undoubtedly familiar with. First and foremost is Rick Harrison: son of the late Richard “Old Man” Harrison and the pawn shop’s current owner. Alongside him are his son Corey and his friend, Austin “Chumlee” Russell both of which have worked closely with Rick and honed their craft for years.
For the most part, they all know what they’re buying and what constitutes a reasonable price, hence why they and their business are so successful. Rick Harrison especially has done incredibly well for himself, and his net worth reflects that.

Murray Sawchuck: $15 Million

As an esteemed magic historian, he has been brought in as an expert appraiser to give advice on purchases at the shop. Stationed in Las Vegas, where he regularly performs magic shows, he is just a short trip away from the Silver & Gold pawn shop, and has become a good friend to owner Rick Harrison. He has an impressive net worth of $15 million .
Gold And Silver Pawn Shop Self
To visit the Pawn Stars shop for free, you simply have to show up during their store hours! However, keep in mind that there are usually long lines. Nevada residents get priority in the store, so if you know someone in Las Vegas, it might be worth asking them to tag along.
Once youre in the shop, you can feel free to look around and see some of the rare objects theyve collected over the years and also see different areas that you recognize from TV. Photography is allowed, though due to some Nevada state laws, you must refrain from taking pictures directly towards the pawn counter. Video is not allowed in the store.
Though many of the visitors to Gold & Silver Pawn Shop are looking to meet Rick, Chumlee, and Corey, just showing up isnt a guarantee to meet or see them. Rick, Chumlee, and Corey do not regularly work at the Pawn Stars store however, they will visit fans on the shop floor. Their visits are not usually announced, so youll just have to get lucky.
If you want to put luck more on your side, check out their other businesses where they are often seen regularly. Rick and Chumlee are usually at the Pawn Plaza during the week. Rick bartends at his bar, Ricks Rollin Smoke BBQ and Tavern, on Friday and Saturday night. Chumlee is often at his candy store, Chums Candy, Wednesday through Sunday in the afternoons.

What Is The Value Of Gold At A Pawn Shop And What Factors Affect That Price

How Much The Pawn Stars Are Actually Worth
Pawn Stars has clued viewers in on how much a Babe Ruth baseball, a suit once worn by George Washington, a Super Bowl ring, and more are worth since the mega-hit series first premiered on the History Channel in 2009. The show has given fans a behind-the-scenes look at the pawn shop industry and some of the cool things people buy and sell within it. In addition to sticking around as one of the longest-running reality TV shows and doubling in length from 30 to 60 minutes in 2019’s season 16, its success led to multiple spin-off shows, like Pawn Stars UK and the ill-fated Cajun Pawn Stars. The series has also allowed the network itself to bank a reported $3 million per episode, according to Celebrity Net Worth.
Basically, the History Channel struck gold when it discovered the inimitable Harrison family the late grandfather Richard “Old Man” Harrison, son Rick Harrison, grandson Corey “Big Hoss” Harrison, and family friend Austin “Chumlee” Russell who run the Gold and Silver Pawn Shop in Las Vegas. The three generations of Harrison men and their experts have undeniably had a sharp eye for differentiating valuables from straight-up junk. However, one may wonder how much money they’ve put in their own pockets while wheeling and dealing. How much are these Pawn Stars actually worth? You might be surprised.

Corey ‘big Hoss’ Harrison
Corey “Big Hoss” Harrison has proven he’s inherited some of dad Rick’s top-notch negotiating skills. According to Screen Rant, he once received a percentage in equity of the family business after threatening to leave if they didn’t give him some ownership. Clearly, this has only helped his bank account as he reportedly has an estimated net worth of $5 million. It does seem like the younger Harrison kind of earned it though, considering he started working at the shop when he was just 9 years old, eventually working his way up the ranks to becoming manager of its day-to-day operations, according to his History Channel biography.
While the family business has been lucrative, Harrison has also tried other avenues to bring in money. He and longtime friend-coworker Austin “Chumlee” Russell have been known to cash in $1,000 a night for club appearances, according to CNN. As dad Rick told the media outlet in 2011, “Club owners know that once they start tweeting their location for the night, hundreds of people show up to see them.” Corey Harrison also purchased the Beauty Bar Las Vegas with a friend in 2014 . When the business temporarily lost its liquor license five years later, the reality TV star told Las Vegas Review-Journal that he’d already sold off his shares the previous December. Perhaps he realized he should just stick to the family business?

Coronavirus Massively Distorted Pawn Industry Harrison Says
Meanwhile, in an interview last year with Fox Business, Rick Harrison said the pandemic has wrought some surprising changes to the pawn industry.
When coronavirus first hit, the industry saw an uptick as people sold off items to pay bills. But theres been a temporary reversal in the types of people who are scrambling to make ends meet, according to Harrison.
The market is so massively distorted right now, Harrison said last summer. Believe it or not, middle- and lower-income people are actually doing better now than they were before the virus because theyre getting so much more in unemployment. Most people, if you make under $50,000 a year, and youre on unemployment, right now youre making more than when you were working.
So basically, its upper-income people that are actually pawning and selling stuff right now, he explained. Those are the people coming in needing money right now.
As a result, he said, their shop has been getting a lot of high-end watches and high-end jewelry since the pandemic hit. Most upper-middle-class people did not have the savings to weather this extended downturn, particularly if the pandemic left them unable to work.
As for the stars of Pawn Stars, as millionaires who are doing a steady business these days, they seem to be doing just fine.
Items Available For Purchase At The Gold & Silver Pawn Shop
Visitors are free to mill around and look at all of the items for sale in the shop. One of my favorite things to do when I was there was to see the items that were featured on the television show and to try to remember if I saw them when they were featured. If they were on the show, they were marked with a special tag.
I was amazed at the prices of some of the items in the shop. The most expensive things I saw were the artwork, and some of the jewelry, such as some of the Superbowl rings. Although it is fun to visit the Gold & Silver Pawn Shop because you are really entering the set of a television show, which just happens to also be a business, the visit is very educational. I am pretty sure most people will never be able to see an authentic Superbowl ring in person unless they visit the shop.

Early Life Of Chumlee
Austin Chumlee Russell was born on September 8, 1982, in Henderson, Nevada. His father likened him to the walrus Chumley from the cartoon Tennessee Tuxedo when he was 12 years old because of his broad face and large chin, garnering him the nickname Chumlee.
The nickname, it goes without saying, remained. Chumlee has two brothers and sisters: Sage, a brother, and Terra, a sister. Corey Harrison, Rick Harrisons son and Richard Harrisons grandson was one of his childhood closest friends.
Richard and Rick Harrison launched the Gold and Silver Pawn Shop in Las Vegas, only a few minutes from the strip, in 1989.
Richard Old Man Harrison
Richard “Old Man” Harrison was born in Lexington, North Carolina on March 4, 1941. He is most famous for being one of the featured stars of the smash hit History channel reality series “Pawn Stars”. Old Man Harrison opened the “Gold and Silver Pawn Shop” in Las Vegas, Nevada, with his son, in 1989. The shop has been open twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week ever since. The patriarch of the Harrison family makes $15,000 per episode and has an estimated net worth of $8 million.
The “Old Man” is 72 years old and insists he no plans to retire. As his son told a Philadelphia newspaper, the Old Man is the type of person who would die six months after retiring.
